After previously naming BNP Paribas World’s Best Bank for Securities Services in 2024, Euromoney has again singled out its European business this year. Editors applauded “the Bank’s diversified, multi-local model, operating proprietary custody and fund-administration capabilities in 27 European and global markets, translated into the strongest first-quarter revenue performance among the industry’s big five custodians” and highlighted that “the Bank’s scale positions it to lead industry-wide change and extract efficiency gains.”

As the only European player among the top five global custodians, BNP Paribas’ Securities Services business has adapted its model for growth over the past 30 years, to become a global leader with European roots, with assets under custody of EUR13.25 trillion in 2024, and assets under administration of EUR2.76 trillion. Editors also noted that product development has kept pace with commercial advance.

A DCM powerhouse

Named as Europe’s Best Investment Bank for DCM, BNP Paribas retained its #1 position in the Eurobond market and ranked #5 globally in international DCM volume in 2024, according to Dealogic data. Euromoney editors recognised the Bank’s ability to “translate consistent, currency-agnostic advice into tangible gains across investment grade, high-yield and emerging market segments, cementing its role as Europe’s best DCM franchise.”

Euromoney underscored the Bank’s addition of incremental share in euros in 2024 and its emergence as the leading non-Swiss arranger, positioning itself third overall, and standing as the number one non-UK-headquartered sterling bookrunner. It highlighted the leveraged finance industry, where “BNP Paribas now ranks alongside the traditional Wall Street lenders.”

The DCM franchise spans across sovereigns, supranationals and agencies, corporates, and financial institutions, each benefiting from the Bank’s deep structuring expertise and flawless execution. Euromoney noted that “product innovation has been another engine of growth”, from leading 40 debut transactions to structuring the largest-ever green hybrid bond, and delivering across market conditions, with pioneering firsts such as the eurozone’s first digital bond issuance by a sovereign issuer and unlocking new markets in CEEMEA.
