Early careers: fostering the sustainability leaders of the future

BNP Paribas is launching the new cohort of its Sustainability Graduate Programme.

In October 2022, BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) will launch a new cohort of its Sustainability Graduate Programme.

The programme is designed to give talented young people the opportunity to launch a career with purpose and positive impact, learning from leading experts in sustainable and impact finance.

Why choose a career in sustainability with BNP Paribas?

The world is facing a climate emergency. Urgent action is needed across all sectors of society to accelerate the shift to a low-carbon and sustainable future, and financial institutions have an important role to play.

BNP Paribas has been a leader in sustainable finance for the last six years, aligning its strategy with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The bank is committed to accompanying its clients in their sustainability journeys – whether institutional investors, corporates or other borrowers – and using innovative approaches to finance to drive positive environmental and social outcomes, as well as long-term profitability.

The Bank continues to drive forward an ambitious Sustainable Finance strategy, covering positive impact sectors from smart cities and mobility, to energy, infrastructure and AgriFood. Achieving our ambitions requires new talent with new perspectives. Graduates will be joining at an exciting time, with sustainability at the core of our strategic ambitions.

How is the programme structured?

Over eighteen months, graduates will take on three assignments*, working with a range of teams in sustainable finance, gaining hands-on experience and learning about our culture, purpose and values.

Graduates are also offered the chance to undertake a certified training programme with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, as well as mentoring opportunities with senior peers.

Who are our graduates?

We are looking for ambitious graduates who want to embark on a career in sustainable finance. Candidates must be committed to our mission to build a more sustainable future with a demonstrable interest in sustainability and a strong desire to make a difference for our clients, our communities and the planet. We’re looking for fresh ideas and new ways of thinking.

Chu Zhou

The Sustainability Graduate Programme is unique. I had the opportunity to go through three distinct teams and locations within CIB: CSR Analysis and Advisory, Project Finance and Sustainable Finance Market. All helped build expertise and a network, and face diverse sustainable finance topics.
