BNP Paribas announces its partnership with Dift, a French start-up. This partnership builds on BNP Paribas’ existing ‘Sharing Products’ initiative, which is a mechanism whereby a defined portion of investments can be donated to environmental and social charitable causes.
Co-founded by Frédéric Mazzella, the entrepreneur behind the successful BlaBlaCar, Dift (donation as a gift) plays a key role in scaling this initiative, expanding access to more charities and projects across diverse regions. Dift allows BNP Paribas to offer new services to its clients to better integrate philanthropy in financial products.
The intuitive digital platform empowers clients to take an active role in selecting the causes they wish to support. This is the first product in the market to offer such an interactive and tailored approach.
Once the end investors have chosen their charities from the platform, they can receive an impact report which will specify how their donation contributed to positive outcomes.
A commitment to philanthropic funding
BNP Paribas’ partnership with Dift marks a step forward in the Bank’s commitment to raise awareness among its clients, allowing them to support charitable projects and sustainable initiatives more easily.
“Our partnership with Dift allows investors to play a more active role in shaping the future by linking donations to investment products,” said Youri Siegel, Head of BNP Paribas Global Markets Sustainable Structuring. “This new platform advances on our existing initiative, which has already channelled significant capital to meaningful projects and will empower investors with a new philanthropic platform.”
“BNP Paribas and Dift are joining forces in a wide-ranging partnership that ushers in a new era: one in which commitment to environmental and social causes is at the heart of financial concerns,” said Frédéric Mazzella, co-founder, and President of Dift. “Our first positive and pioneering collaboration focused on sharing structured products, and this is only the first step!”
“Using financial products as leverage to support non-profit projects is a great opportunity. This partnership between BNP Paribas and Dift shows how this can transform social and environmental causes, by providing them with additional resources,” added Georges Basdevant, co-founder, and CEO of Dift. “Dift is proud to enable BNP Paribas to add new verified associations, and to involve end-customers in the choice of causes, which brings much more commitment and emotion.”
The BNP Paribas ‘Sharing Products’ initiative, a mechanism where a proportion of investments support charitable donations, was first launched in 2019 and has gathered over EUR14 million in donations for charity projects worldwide. This new partnership with Dift is rapidly gaining momentum, drawing in new clients and supporting impact.
