BNP Paribas has received two accolades
at Risk Awards 2021 winning Currency
Derivatives House of the Year for the third consecutive year and Credit
Portfolio Manager of the Year. These awards demonstrate BNP Paribas’ strength
and resilience in one of the most turbulent periods in financial markets history.
In giving the awards, Risk cited BNP Paribas’ ability to anticipate and prepare for the crisis, its long dollar
inventory and its global forwards e-book as fundamental to the FX business
providing liquidity and supporting clients throughout the height of the crisis.
The expertise of BNP Paribas’ FX team also allowed the business to develop
innovative solutions for clients as they looked for flexibility and support
when the crisis hit.
“Winning Currency Derivatives House of the
Year for the third year running is a huge testament to the strength and
expertise of BNP Paribas’ currency business”, commented Francisco Oliveira,
Global Head of FXLM.COMM (Foreign Exchange, Local Markets and Commodities).
“Even in unprecedented times such as these, we have been able to consistently
support clients’ diverse needs and provide liquidity in times of market stress.
It is an honour to be recognised by Risk
Awards for the third consecutive year.”
“Winning Currency Derivatives House of the Year for the third year running is a huge testament to the strength and expertise of BNP Paribas’ currency business.”
In a year of unprecedented global
crisis, Risk
noted in its award that BNP Paribas’ Credit Portfolio Management demonstrated its nimbleness to
provide a clear vision of the portfolio activity throughout very volatile times
and support the significant increase in clients’ demand for more funding while
containing the capital consumption resulting from the crisis. Thanks to the
large breadth of capital management solutions and the deep access to investors
and insurer partners, the Bank managed to preserve its ability to serve its clients.
“The integrated set-up of the Securitised Products
Group, within Capital Markets, enhanced our collective agility and proximity to
investors that made all the difference vs peers during the crisis,” commented
Khoi-Anh, Co-Head of Securitised Products Group.
“This award shows the ability of the
team to transform a very challenging context into a win while serving the bank
to support the economy and our clients. This is the result of talented people
blended with a very positive team spirit,” commented Thomas Alamalhoda, Head of
Securitised Products Group – Portfolio Management Solutions.
The Risk Awards are recognised for celebrating leadership and innovation
within the industry and this year’s recognition demonstrate BNP Paribas’ adaptability
in providing relevant solutions for clients even in unprecedented times.
