Nasdaq invited BNP Paribas to its MarketSite office in Times Square, New York, to open the market on 4 December, celebrating the firms’ long-standing partnership in the US.



Bob Hawley, CEO of BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking in the Americas, was joined by colleagues as he rang the Opening Bell to signal the start of the trading day. Presented with the Opening Bell ceremony crystal on behalf of the bank, Hawley thanked the “clients for their continued support and the many BNP Paribas Group employees, both in the US and around the world, for their dedication and commitment.”

The bank has a lasting relationship with Nasdaq that we are celebrating today, be it through its diversified geographic presence or its deep capital markets franchise.

As he kicked off the ceremony, Tal Cohen, Head of North American Equities at Nasdaq, underlined BNP Paribas’ history and presence in the US and its collaboration with Nasdaq. “The bank has a lasting relationship with Nasdaq that we are celebrating today, be it through its diversified geographic presence or its deep capital markets franchise”, he said.



The ceremony was broadcast live on Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business News and BNN, and was live-streamed on the Nasdaq Tower in Times Square and on Nasdaq.com.
