BNP Paribas Spain partners with CUNEF university to nurture new talent

This unique programme in Spain will offer junior professionals the opportunity to gain on-the-job experience while undertaking a Masters degree.

BNP Paribas in Spain has launched a new programme designed to offer recent graduates the opportunity to gain on-the-job experience in finance, while undertaking a Masters degree in Banking at Madrid’s CUNEF University.

The programme aims to offer current or recent graduates with extensive language skills an opportunity to build a dynamic and international career in the leading European bank. Successful candidates will be hired to the European Finance & Strategy platform, which serves European CFOs or the Trade Finance platform, providing services from Spain to support the Bank’s activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The new offering underlines BNP Paribas CIB’s commitment to build a bank for the future by  harnessing the energy, ideas and perspectives of young, diverse talent. In doing so, the Bank offers junior professionals the opportunity to learn from market-leading professionals and play an active role in the Bank’s future, based on digital transformation, innovation and positive social and environmental impact.

The Finance & Strategy platform, named also Infinity EMEA has 540 employees across 35 nationalities based in Spain, and 350 employees based in Lisbon. It is a key part of the Bank’s global financial services, serving the Finance & Strategy teams across Europe, as well as all  business lines of the BNP Paribas Group. The Finance Service Centre plays a critical role in the measurement, controls and analysis of financial reporting data.

The European Trade Finance Service Centre has 115 employees across 16 nationalities in Spain and provides solutions for domestic and international guarantees, syndicated guarantees, fronting, green and sustainable linked guarantees and documentary products (import and export) for both corporations or institutions, in close collaboration with the Global Trade Solutions teams.

New recruits will also have the opportunity to undertake a fully-funded Master’s degree in Banking at CUNEF University, customised for BNP Paribas employees and taught in English. Participants will obtain a degree from the university, which has trained more than 10,000 professionals operating in the banking sector, auditing and technology companies and public administration, among other sectors. The study programme will be taught over 18 months on a part-time basis and complement the day-to-day activities of the Bank. Subjects studied include banking management, financial sector regulation, financial statement analysis, risk management, trade finance and structured finance.
