BNP Paribas today announced that it has been named ‘Most
Innovative Investment Bank from Western Europe‘ by The Banker magazine in its Investment Banking
Awards 2017. BNP Paribas was also named
‘Most Innovative Investment Bank for Climate Change and Sustainability‘ for the
second consecutive year, and ‘Most Innovative Investment Bank for Structured
Products‘.
We aim to be progressive in how we serve clients. Our strong CIB platform – diversified, balanced, and a full-service offer that is wholly-integrated into the Group – helps us achieve this aim. Sustainability is a good example. In the 21st century, alongside being digitally savvy, delivering on sustainability is a licence to trade. Our position of strength enables us to explore new financial solutions so that we can accompany our clients in building more sustainable business practices. This will help realise their long-term growth aspirations, and in so doing, ours too as their banking partner. These three awards reflect that our progressive approach resonates with clients, and that is very encouraging.
Yann Gerardin, Global Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking
While many of its European peers have been forced to retrench from certain markets to boost lowly profits, the French bank’s Corporate and Institutional Bank (CIB) has not had to restructure, nor cut business lines, nor set up a ‘bad bank’ to offload non-performing assets. For any client rattled by their lender’s lack of commitment to certain business lines, BNP Paribas appears a reliable alternative.
