Financial News’s FN100 Most Influential Women in
Finance list for 2017 has recognised the contributions of two BNP Paribas
executives to the industry. UK Country Head, Anne Marie Verstraeten, and Sophie
Javary, Head of Corporate Finance EMEA, were named in the annual list, which
honours the most influential female executives in the financial services sector.
On Anne Marie Verstraeten, Financial News said: “Her
role is critical in the French bank’s strategy and expansion plans. Its group
development plan published in March identified the UK, along with Germany and
the Nordics, as areas of greatest strategic importance.”
The publication also highlighted Sophie Javary’s division,
comprising mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets, which “is
considered a key driver for future growth.”
In compiling the FN100 women list, Financial News
canvassed a wide range of market opinion before drawing up a definitive list of
the 100 most influential women in finance, assessing their influence and
leadership over their company and market sector, as well as career and
performance to date.
